Basaltline has detailed its on-site power strategy for Basalt Ridge Technology Park: high-efficiency turbine generation paired with battery storage, operating behind the approved utility yard for seamless bridging and backup.

The plan adds 80MW of on-site turbine capacity in the campus power yard, configured for bridging during grid events and scheduled maintenance — not for baseload islanding. A 25MW/100MWh battery installation provides instantaneous ride-through while turbines ramp, keeping IT loads on conditioned power without interruption.

The system was designed with the surrounding community in mind: hospital-grade emissions controls, sound-attenuated enclosures meeting the county’s 55 dBA property-line standard, and selective catalytic reduction on every unit. Waste heat will be evaluated for capture to warm adjacent facilities in later phases.

“Hyperscale customers plan in decades, and the grid plans in years. On-site bridging power closes that gap — our customers get utility-grade reliability on day one, whatever the interconnection queue looks like.” — Sofia Marchetti, VP Design & Engineering
