Basaltline has joined the Grid Alliance — the regional consortium of utilities, developers, and large energy users — as a founding partner, helping coordinate transmission investment for the Mid-Atlantic’s load growth.
The Alliance brings utilities, data center developers, and regulators into a single planning forum to sequence substation upgrades, align interconnection queues, and co-fund transmission extensions. As a founding partner, Basaltline will contribute its campus load forecasts and share interconnection best practices from three active developments.
Membership also gives Basaltline customers earlier visibility into regional transmission timelines — a direct input to build-to-suit scheduling. The Alliance’s first joint plan, covering priority upgrades through 2030, will be published later this year.
“Nobody solves grid-scale load growth alone. The Alliance puts the right people in one room — utilities, developers, and communities — so transmission gets built where the demand actually is.” — Daniel Okafor, EVP Development

Basaltline joins the Alliance’s transmission working group this quarter. Customers with multi-campus roadmaps can request a joint planning session covering power timelines across all three Basaltline sites.
