The Team Behind the Campuses

A highly specialized group of developers, engineers, and operators — obsessed with delivering capacity that performs for decades.

Why Basaltline?

Developers first, landlords never

Basaltline was founded by data center developers who spent their careers inside hyperscale and wholesale platforms. We started the company to do one thing exceptionally well: take a site from raw land to commissioned capacity without losing the customer’s intent along the way.

That focus shows up in how we work — owner-side engineering on every project, open-book construction reporting, and operations teams involved from the first drawing. Our customers stay because their second campus is easier than their first.

Partners

Stronger with the right partners

We build alongside the utilities, carriers, and contractors who power the Mid-Atlantic — including the regional utilities' service territories, five on-net long-haul carriers, the Grid Alliance infrastructure consortium, and regional general contractors who staff at least 40% of hours locally.

Community

A Good Neighbor by Design

Every Basaltline campus opens with a community benefits plan: quarterly open houses, school STEM funding, first-responder support, and public trails or green buffers where the site allows.

We publish construction schedules and traffic plans before we break ground, and every campus has a community liaison with a public phone number — answered by a person, not a portal.

Sustainability and Environmental

Efficient by design, cleaner every year

New Basaltline buildings target a PUE of 1.25 or better through evaporative cooling, hot-aisle containment, and AI-assisted plant optimization. Reclaimed water is our first choice for cooling makeup; air-cooled redundancy covers drought years.

On-site solar canopies, battery storage reservations, and a 2035 net-zero operations commitment keep every campus improving after handover. Full environmental assessments are published for each site before construction begins.

Careers

Build the backbone of the internet

We hire operators, electricians, commissioning engineers, and development talent across Virginia and North Carolina — with apprenticeship pipelines at every live campus.
